Mary Masterenko Peganoff, 93, a resident of Forestview Skilled Nursing Center, died there Sunday, July 9, 2006. She was born November 22, 1912 in Poland, the daughter of the late Phillip and Katherine Pancerev Waseloff. A resident of Erie, Mary had once worked at her brother's Buffalo, N.Y. hardware store called Master-Simon. She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity and also belonged to their Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Alex Masterenko; her husband, Joseph Peganoff, who died in 1994; four brothers, Andrew Waseloff, Phillip Waseloff, Steve Masters and Sam Master; along with two sisters, Agnes Masterenko and Helen Guzinski. Mary is survived by three sisters, Kathryn Simon of Saratoga, Calif.; Carol Kemner of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Frances Simmons of Lancaster, N.Y.; along with two brothers, Gene and James Masterenko of Calif. She is also survived by a stepson, Joseph Pagenoff, and his wife, Carol, of Erie; and a stepdaughter, Patricia Majchrzak and her husband, David, of Rochester, N.Y. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
