PEELER Stanley L. Peeler, 85, passed away January 19, 2005 at Southpoint Terrace. A native of Jacksonville and a resident of Cypress Village, he was preceded in death by his wife, “Jean” and his grandson, Steve Peeler. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He retired as Chief of the Fire/Crash Department at Mayport Naval Station after 37 years of military and civilian service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #356 of Neptune Beach, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Morocco Shrine Temple. He was past Cmdr. Of the Lancers Motorcycle Unit of the Beaches Shrine Club, a member of the American Legion and a Lifetime Honorary member of the Florida Sheriff's Association. Family members include his sons, Jack (Tammy) Peeler of Jacksonville and John (Doreen) Peeler of St. Augustine; daughters, Carolyn Conner of Douglas, GA and Sharon Kemerer of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren, Debbie Perryman, John Peeler, Jr. and Scott Peeler, all of Jacksonville; eig ht great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. Services will be held cryptside, 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 24th at the Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum with the Reverend John Fletcher, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or to the charity of the donor's choice. Services under the direction and care of Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
