Marjorie Elizabeth Peden Kennedy (1924 - 2011)
Marjorie Elizabeth Peden Kennedy, 87, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Nov. 26,2011. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday as St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Richland Hills. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitations: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born Sept. 24, 1924, in Newark to HR and Elizabeth Peden. She grew up in west Fort Worth, graduating from Arlington Heights High School. Soon after graduation she moved to Santa Fe, N.M., to be an air traffic controller during World War II. After moving back to Fort Worth, she met a young handsome pilot from Indiana who was training at Carswell Air Force Base. Marge and Ray married and enjoyed 49 years of marriage, living in Hurst and Fort Worth raising three sons. One of her fondest memories was to be able to travel the world to many different countries with her husband. She was a homemaker, Cub Scout den mother, volunteer for St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Hospital Ministry Group, and she volunteered for Tarrant County Harvest. Marge enjoyed life to its fullest, loving music and spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and couldn't have been more proud of. As we say good-bye to her, she will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. Her smile and laughter and helping hand for others will be remembered by every heart she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Kennedy Jr.; and one son, Raymond D. Kennedy III.
Survivors: Sons, Michael R. Kennedy and wife, Dorothy, and Patrick S. Kennedy and wife, Linda; brother, Jack Peden; grandchildren, tne Rev. Christopher Kennedy and wife, Ashley, Nicholas Kennedy and wife, Nikita, Kelly Hintze and husband, the Rev. Kevin, Patrick Kennedy Jr., Justin Haley and Brandi Haley; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, "Luke."
