Charles Edwin Pecht
Blood poison resulting from an infection of some nature resulted fatally for Charles Edwin Pecht, 45, of near Siglerville, who died in the Lewistown Hospital at 10:45 o'clock Tuesday night following an illness of more than a week.
He was taken to the hospital Monday morning where unsuccessful efforts were made to save his life. He had been ill at home some time prior to being removed to the hospital.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Catherine Reed Pecht and the following five children: Grant Reed, 20; William Merle, 15; Charles Edwin, 13; John Robert, 6; Clarence Eugene, 4. His parents, William Robert and Nancy Jane Culbertson Pecht of Milroy, and one brother and three sisters also survive. The brother and sisters are: Russell Pecht of Milroy; Mrs. Clyde (Ruth) Civitts of Milroy; Mrs. Walter (Edna) Kauffman of Milroy; and Mrs. Ray (Adelene) Treaster of Lockes Mills.
Mr. Pecht was a farmer and during the fall was employed as a thresherman. He was a member of Siglerville Lutheran Church.
The body will be removed from the Fretz Funeral Home and friends may call the home after noon Thursday until time for funeral services at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the Siglerville Lutheran Church. At 10 o'clock Saturday morning prayer service will be held at the home. Church services will be conducted by Rev. Charles A. Lentz of Milroy and interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
