Opal P. Collins
MONTICELLO — Services for Opal P.
Collins, 83, of 406 N. Burke St., Wolcott,
formerly of Rt. 4, Monticello, will be held
at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Voorhis-Draper
She died at 8:01 p.m. Friday at White
County Memorial Hospital.
Born May 30,1913, in Carroll County, she
was the daughter of John and Maude Temple
Pearson. On Aug. 23,1930, in Jasper County,
she was married to Edwin P. Collins, who
died Jan. 21,1985.
Mrs, Collins had been in failing health the
past several years. She lived in the Idaville
and Wolcott areas all of her life, and was a
former farmer with her husband.
She was a member of the Eastlawn United
Methodist Church and attended the Wolcott
Baptist Church. She also was a member of
the Rook card club.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James
J. "Carmin" Anker, and Mrs. Elden "Stoker"
"Judith" Edmond, ail of Wolcott, and Mrs.
Wilfred "Dixie L." Bruegger, Rice Lake, Wis.;
one son, Michael E. Collins, Flowermound,
two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Carl
"Betty" Taskey, and Mrs. Frank "Wilma" Roell,
all of Monticello; one brother, Ralph Pearson,
Gulf Breeze, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and five
The Revs. Chuck Siklerand Alvin Rockey
will officiate at the services. Burial will
be in Idaville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at
the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a
charity of the donor's choice.
