Services for Mrs. Grace Helms, 82, 424 Paynter, Caldwell, who died Thursday at the home of her daughter, were to be held at 2 p.m. today at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel in Caldwell. Officiating was Mr. John Free. Interment was to be in Canyon Hill.
She was born October 24, 1883, at Princeton, Minnesota. She moved to Missouri with her parents when she was nine years old. She married E. J. Helms, December 24, in northwest Missouri. They homesteaded in western Kansas, and moved to Nebraska in 1911. They lived there until 1934 when they moved to Arkansas. They came to Caldwell in 1955. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Rumbaugh of Caldwell and Mrs. Doris Portenier of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Mrs. June Shannon of Weiser, Mrs. Rosabelle Betts of Nevada, Iowa, Mrs. Flora Martin of Weippe; a son, Wade Helms of Grover, Colorado; half-sister, Mrs. Flora Miller of Osborne, Kansas, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
