BURLEY – Janiece Angle Burgess, 54, of Burley, passed away at her home in Burley on July 21, 2015, after a courageous battle with several serious illnesses.
Janiece was born in Mesa, Arizona on June 19, 1961, to her loving parents, Willie Darrell Angle and Geneva Mary Berryhill Angle.
In April 1976, the Angle family moved to Spokane, WA, where Janiece graduated from Central Valley High School in 1979. Janiece left Spokane to attend Rick's College in 1980.
She soon met the love of her life, Kirk D. Burgess. They were married in Spokane on July 17, 1981, and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 10, 1982. After they were married they lived in Rupert and Heyburn, and finally settled in their dream home on the Snake River in Burley. Through the years she became the mother to three children: Josh, Kira and Derek, who love and adore her.
Janiece worked at Smith's Food and Drug for 17 years in various positions, including as the non-foods manager. She loved to serve those around her and organized the Mini-Cassia March of Dimes Walk America for three years, as well as coached for the Special Olympics. Janiece continued to find other places to put her leadership skills and talents to use. She worked at the Racquetball Club (the front desk and in the office), as a baker at the Wayside Cafe, and with her son as an office manager at Burgess Intermountain Martial Arts.
Janiece was her children's biggest fan. She supported them in every endeavor and loved them unconditionally. Love was something she did well. She loved to have people in her home. She was a wonderful cook and was welcoming to everyone she met. She loved to work on family history and mapping headstones at local cemeteries.
Janiece was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an amazing teacher and especially loved to work with the youth. She was always willing to learn and had a strong knowledge and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ.
In 2004 Janiece suffered a heart attack that led to a heart transplant in May 2010. Our family will be eternally grateful for her heart donor, who gave Janiece the five extra years that allowed her to see her children get married and to become a grandma. She loved her grandbabies more than anything in the world.
Janiece was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Geneva Angle; and her brother, Bruce Darrell Angle.
Janiece is survived by her husband, Kirk D. Burgess; their children: Joshua D. and Alison Bame Burgess, Kira and Sergio Andres Rivadeneira, Derek D and Denise Gaines Burgess; her granddaughters: Celes, Hazel, Evie, Lilia, Marcaline and Juliet; her first grandson on the way, Kaleb; Lori Berg, who she loved like her own daughter; her siblings: Morris (Rhonda) Angle, Rowland (Karen) Angle and Darlene (David) Bond; and countless others who love and will miss her.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Star LDS Church, 100 S. 200 W., of Burley, with Bishop Chris Seibold officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.
