PEARCE, Rebecca Pearce CHATTLE 1839-1921
Rebecca was the youngest daughter of Daniel and Sarah Pearce.
She married William H. Chattle in 1864. They had one child, Birdie Fields who was adopted. Birdie was born in 1877 and died in 1881, while the family was living in Roscoe, Kansas.
Mrs. Rebecca Chattle was born April 23, 1839 at Oswego. During the Civil War, she was married to W. Chattle and to this union one daughter was born, who died in infancy. Seven years ago, the husband passed away. She then came to Illinois to spend the remainder of her life. Three years ago she left this locality for Wilmington, where she died Sept. 17, 1921. Two brothers of the family, James and Calvin Pearce, survive her. Her parents were of Methodist faith, she being reared under same, also a member of the church. Interment was in the Pearce Cemetery at Oswego.
