Gary Warren Peach
2/17/1951 - 4/14/2012
Gary Warren Peach passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 14, 2012 at age 61. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil in 1985. Born in Sacramento, Calif., on February 17, 1951 to Barbara Peach (Flores) and Cecil Peach, he was the second of three children.
After a brief enlistment in the Air Force Gary married Bonnie Petkovich. They moved to Lincoln where craftsman and businessman Gary owned and operated Lincoln Upholstery for many years. Gary perfected his craft specializing in residential and restoration upholstery. The Governor's State Capitol office and the California State Railroad Museum both include his work. Gary left the upholstery business to work in the building trade managing home and commercial construction.
Gary was diagnosed with cancer several years ago but continued a vibrant life, as the illness would allow, finishing construction of a small custom retirement home. Gary found his green thumb there planting a magnificent rose garden that included rose varieties from his childhood. Gary appreciated fine art collecting many pieces during his trips to the coast with Bonnie. "Good luck frogs" were some of their favorites. He also enjoyed riding his "Hog" motorcycle with Bonnie. He and a riding buddy took a grand motorcycle journey to Alaska.
Gary loved to surround himself with family and friends. His final years were spent close to his sons, Zachary (Caroline) and Nathan (Robin); and his nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Farren (Tom); brother, Eric (Paula); and sister, Claudia Crowley (John).
A service will be held May 16, 2012 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Church in Lincoln followed by a celebration of Gary's life at the Valley View School (Thermalands Community Center)
