The daughter of Edwin Franklin and Glorina (Sizemore) Payton she was born in Schuyler County, Missouri on May 2, 1896.
On December 27, 1913 she was united in marriage to Mr. K.I. Miller and to this union three daughters were born: Mary Ann, Ruth and Marjorie. Mr. and Mrs. Miller lived their entire life in Lancaster, where he will be remembered as the owner and operator of the Miller Hatcheries.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Chapter "E" P.E.O. and of the Christian Church of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death, besides her parents and husband, by one daughter, Mary Ann Thompson, and by two grandsons, George Frederick (Ricky) Beeler and Michael Gardine; also by one sister, Mrs. Elaine Moler.
She is survived by two daughter: Mrs. Ruth Bigsby of Tampa, Florida and Mrs. Marjorie Beeler of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Edwyna Fenton, of Centerville, Iowa, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 15, 1987 at 1:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Chapel in Lancaster. The Rev. Jim Oliphant, pastor of the Christian Church of Lancaster, officiated. Music was furnished by Guy Gardine, soloist. He was accompanied by Mrs. Maxine Elschlager, on the organ. Special selections were: "The Last Mile of the Way" and "Precious Memories."
Pallbearers were: Charles Beeler, Richard Anderson, Poe Steggall, Pete Gibson, J.O. Kollar, and Stanley Elschlager. Interment was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery at Lancaster. Arrangements were by the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster.
