OBITUARY
Mrs. David Eastin
Lura Preston Payton Eastin, daughter of Y.W. and Sally Ann Payton, was born on a farm east of Lancaster in Schuyler County, Missouri in 1855, and departed this life at her home in Greentop, Missouri, May 9, 1934, being at the time of her death, aged 78 years, 9 months and 4 days. She was united in marriage to David Eastin, January 22, 1874, and to this union seven children were born, Johnnie M. Eastin, who died in infancy, Burr L. Eastin of Greentop, Mo., Mrs. Eastin was one of eight children, of whom only two, a brother and sister survive, John C. Payton of Kirksville, Mo., and Laura Fugate of Lancaster, Mo.
Besides her husband and six children, she leaves 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was united with the Christian Church at Queen City, Mo., in early womanhood, leaving a true and faithful Christian life, always administering to others needs. She was also a faithful member of the Christian Aid.
During her months of suffering, she was always patient, never complaining, but bore her affliction bravely.
Funeral services were held Friday, at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. P.M. Lind. Burial was in the Fugate cemetery, L. O. Young, funeral director in charge.
