|Elizabeth Dowell Payson|
|Birth: ||unknown, England|
|Death: ||Jan. 8, 1677|
Giles Payson married in Roxbury [blank] April 1637 Elizabeth Dowell. She died at Roxbury on 8 January 1677[/8?].
They had four children: Elizabeth, Samuel, Elizabeth Foster Brown, & Sarah Foster Wiswall.
After listing the children of Giles Payson, Savage stated that there were "possibly others, but not mentioned in town or church records as indeed is not in the town records this last, because he removed to Dorchester, where the records were destroyed by fire." This implies that Giles Payson had removed to Dorchester by 1648. The absence of the last child from the Roxbury birth records most likely indicates that those records were not complete for the year in question, and there is no evidence for any additional children. On 1 July 1664, Giles and Edward Payson bought several parcels of land, some in Roxbury and some in Dorchester, but Giles remained in Roxbury, rather than joining Edward in the move to Dorchester.
