Kathleen Hobbs Paynter, 76, of Sykesville, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown.
Born Aug. 6, 1934, in Henryton, she was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Ella Adele Hobbs.
She was the wife of the late John Reese Paynter, her husband of 55 years.
She was a longtime member of Brandenburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, especially antique shopping, and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and organized many family gatherings. She looked forward to Christmas, her favorite time of year.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Pamela Jean and Allen Haines, of Sykesville, Darlene Ann Paynter, of Pennsylvania, and Doreen Lyn Paynter, of Westminster, and Michele Paynter-Paise and John Paise, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law Harry "Bill" and Shelby Hobbs, of Sykesville; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Jim Pitcher, of Westminster; grandchildren Michael, John and Samuel Haines, all of Sykesville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Howard F. and Donald E. Hobbs; and a sister, Esta Cearfoss.
Interment in Brandenburg United Methodist Church Cemetery in Berrett.
