Rufus Payne, 66 of Sailor Springs, died Thursday morning, April 18 at Veterans Hospital, Quincy, where he had been a patient.

Final rites will be held Saturday, 1:30 pm at Neal Funeral Home, Sailor Springs. Carl Gibson, M G of Sailor Springs Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery, east of Sailor Springs.

Mr. Payne is survived by two sons Rufus Jr. and Alvin. Six brothers, Henry, Perl, Vern and Lowell of Sailor Springs, Harmon of Noble, Leonard of Clay city, a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson and two grandchildren.
