Barbara Joan Berkebile, 75, of Stoystown, died April 19, 2014 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Sept. 11, 1938 in Stoystown, daughter of the late Vernon Ray and Helen (Prokop) Paul.
Survived by her husband of 57 years Wallace Sr.; children: Kenneth, and Wallace Jr. married to the former Christine Chapman, both of Stoystown, David married to the former Cathy Andrews, Friedens, and Melissa, Virginia;
granddaughter: Miranda Berkebile; sisters and brothers: Mary Georg, Stoystown, Dennis (Judy) Paul, Cape May, N.J., Linda (Wilbert) Beachy, Somerset, Vernon (Tina) Paul, Jr., and Harold "Pete" (Joy) Paul, both of Stoystown, and Lori (Tom) Poland, Cresaptown, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Forbes High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Retired language teacher at Richland High School with 25 years of service, and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville.
She enjoyed flower gardening and taking care of her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Walter L. Startzel officiating. Interment P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville. Memorial contributions may be given to In Touch Hospice, P.O. Box 1173, Somerset, PA 15501.
