Bettie Jo (Coats) Paul, age 72, of Chappell Hill, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 in Gazebo Terrace in Brenham, Texas. Bettie entered Gazebo on December 19, 2011. The daughter of Paul and Lucille (Hopkins) Coats was born on May 21, 1940 in Sherman, Texas. Bettie is preceded in death by her parents, as well as an infant twin.
Bettie was of the Baptist faith and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Somerville, Texas. She married Richard Lee Paul on October 3, 1958 at Perrin Air Force Base Chapel in Sherman, Texas. Among other things, Bettie loved collecting antiques and cooking for her family. She enjoyed traveling, seeing historical sites, cross-stitching and family gatherings. Bettie loved working with children and spending time with her family.
Bettie is survived by her husband, Richard Lee Paul, of the home, as well as three sons and their wives; Michael Paul and wife, Linda of Chappell Hill, Texas, Daniel Paul and wife, Jeanette of Brenham, Texas and Jeffrey Paul and wife, Michele of Magnolia, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of many family and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at White Church Cemetery in Gaither Community, with Brother Robert Shaddox officiating. There will be a family gathering at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, June 4. Pallbearers will be Bettie's family and friends.
