Ms. Virginia Crigler Paul, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, in her home. Ms. Paul was 89 years old. She was born in 1920 in Alma(Crawford County), Arkansas, to the late Dr. and Mrs. James Riley Crigler. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Fort Smith; a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class; a member of the P.E.O. and D.A.R; and a graduated from Oklahoma City University and the University of Oklahoma.
Ms. Paul was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband: Dr. Barney Paul; and two brothers: Theron Crigler, and Dr. Ralph Crigler.
She is survived by a daughter: Ellen Pugh, and her husband: Roger, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a son: Ralph Paul, of Van Buren, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Amanda Paul, Matthew, Paul, Wes Pugh, and Alex Pugh; her nephew: Ralph Crigler, of Grand Lake, Oklahoma; her beloved cousin: Virginia Roook, of Conway, Arkansas; and many good friends.
Funeral service was held Friday, November 20, 2009, at 1:00p.m. at Ocker Chapel in Alma, Arkansas. Ms. Paul was laid to rest at the Alma City Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
