Dale Patty, 79, of Hot Springs Village, died peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at National Park Medical Center.
He was born May 16, 1929, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Ernest Newton Patty and Kathryn Stanton Patty.
Mr. Patty retired in 1995 after serving many years in management with various manufacturing firms and was a veteran of the United
States Army, serving his country honorably
He was a member of the Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines and Lions Club. He served on the Village common property and forest committee.
Mr. Patty was also a former member of the architectural control committee for the Village, having served 10 years.
Grandpa, as he was lovingly called by his family, was known as an enthusiastic volunteer who thoroughly enjoyed his service.
Mr. Patty accomplished many things in his life, including the time he cherished managing a gold mine in Alaska, but most important to him were his relationships.
As he put it, "I have had a wonderful life, have worked hard and have been madly in love with my wife of 56 years and my children and grandchildren."
Grandpa is survived by his dear wife, Karen Hanson Patty of Hot Springs Village, and his four sons: Tom Patty and wife Glennan of Shreveport, La., Jim Patty of Edmond, Okla., Steve Patty and wife Melinda of Shreveport, La., and Don Patty and wife Jeanie of Arlington, Texas.
Mr. Patty is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jeff Patty and wife Lindsey; Mark Patty and wife Sarah; Ryan Patty; Jake Patty; Travis Patty; Lindsey Patty, Joseph Patty and wife Courtney; a great grandchild, Emma Lynne Patty; and one brother, Stanton Patty and wife Mabel of Vancouver, Wash.
Mr. Patty was preceded in death by his parents, a beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Patty, and his oldest brother, Ernest Patty, Jr.
A memorial service was held Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines of Hot Springs Village with Rev. William Bailey officiating. A private internment service was held for family.
