Edna Marie Benton, of Rolla, MO, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the age of 83. She was born on August 26, 1931 in Rolla, MO to the late William Patton and Myrtle (Light) Patton. In 1950, she married Vernon Benton who preceded her in death in 1989.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Edna enjoyed fishing and camping, gardening and being with her family, but most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes: three sons, Gary Benton and wife Melanie of Pearl, MS, Larry Benton and wife Leesa of Warsaw, MO, and Jack Benton and friend Laura Miller of Rolla, MO; two daughters, Vicki Ragan of West Plains, MO and Leah Barnes of Rolla, MO; two brothers, Edward Patton and wife Betty and Chester Patton and wife Helen, all of Rolla, MO; one sister, Alice Faye Reeser of Rolla, MO; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Edna M. Benton will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lifeline Baptist Church in Rolla.
