Prudence A. "Prudie" Pattison Beckerink, 65, of Gerry-Levant Road, Falconer passed away unexpectedly Monday (March 28, 2011), in her home.
A lifelong area resident, she was born June 14, 1945, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Oscar and Eleanor Monroe Darling.
Prudie was a 1963 graduate of Falconer High School. In earlier years, she was employed by the Frewsburg Rest Home and the YWCA After School Program in Falconer. She was currently employed by Southern Tier Builders Association. Prudie had also been a longtime area babysitter having taken care of many children for numerous years.
Prudie cherished the time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, taking pictures and being active in the local community.
Surviving are her husband, George A. Beckerink, whom she married June 12, 1965, in Kennedy; three children: Melissa (James) Harlow of Auburn, Ind., Todd (Melodie) Beckerink of Falconer, and Shawn (Sabrina) Beckerink of Oneonta, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Caroline Harlow, Drew Beckerink, Seth Beckerink, Trent Beckerink, Ethan Beckerink and Eliza Beckerink; two sisters: Bonnie Heath of Kennedy, and Mary Morley of Sherwood, Ark.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Seager.
