Death: May 13, 1932

Lillian Pattison was born June 6, 1873 near Riceville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania to Albert Hamilton Pattison and Ella Shreve. On Wednesday, January 4, 1899, Lillian married Edward H. Bartholme, a local widower. In her younger years, Lillian had united with the Baptist Church. After her marriage and later in life, she was a member of the Union Circle of the Local Protected Home Circle and the Embroidery Club. To the union of Lillian and Edward came six children: Florence Edith, John Albert, Karl Edward, Frederick Harold, Meredith E. and Donald. Both Meredith and Karl died from an epidemic of scarlet fever. Lillian and Edd raised two of their granddaughters after their mother, Florence, died: Marian Eloise and Gwendolyn Lucille. It was just after 5:00 p.m. on Friday May 13, 1932 when Lillian was acting as hostess to members of the embroidery club at her home at #7 South Main Street in Union City, Erie County, Pennsylvania. The first course of the meal had just been served when Lillian fell from the chair she was sitting in to the floor unconscious. The doctors were summoned and Dr. A.J. Sherwood and Dr. Paul D. Harrison arrived within a few minutes, but she had already passed away. The funeral of the fifty eight year old Lillian was held on Sunday at the Baptist Church where the 3:00 p.m. service was conducted by Rev. W.H. Dallman. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Union City. She was preceded in death by her father Albert H. Pattison; her children, Mrs. Florence (William) Gray, Karl, Meredith and Donald Bartholme; and her sister Maude Pattison. Survivors were her husband; sons John and Frederick; her mother, Mrs. Ella Pattison of Union City; sisters, Mrs. William (Hattie) Allen of Erie, Mrs. Glenn (Zepha) Campbell of Atlantic, Crawford County and Mrs. Thomas (Daisy) Clear of Akron, Ohio; brother, Charles Pattison of Union City; and three granddaughters, Eloise, Gwendolyn and Dorothy Gray.
