Anita Ruth (Patterson) Cook, 85, a longtime resident of Springfield, Mass., passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Fairfax, Vt., on Dec. 8, 1925, a daughter of the late Cless B. and Ruth H. (King) Patterson, Anita was a graduate of Burlington High School in Vermont.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Thomas J. Cook of Springfield; three sons, Thomas J. Cook III of Florida, Barry J. Cook of Provincetown, and David W. Cook and his wife Robin of Wilbraham; a brother, Walter Patterson of Arizona; a sister, Ruth Murphy of Chicopee; and four adored grandchildren, Thomas, Charles and Phillip Cook, all of Wilbraham, and Sunshine Hines of Minnesota. She also leaves two brothers-in-law, Russell Cook of Fairfax, Va., and Robert Cook of Sparks, Nev.; and a sister-in-law, Marion Sampson of Surprise, Ariz.
