"Death calls L. A. Patterson, Was Motorman for R. & P. Company at Ernest 26 Years Ago, Leslie Anderson Patterson, (name is listed incorrectly) 51, former well-known resident of Ernest, where he was a motorman for the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company, 26 years ago, died Thursday night in Hartsville, S. C. of pneumonia. A son of William and Ellen (Jeffrey) Patterson, now both deceased, he was born January 11, 1887.

Leaving Ernest the Pattersons located in Washington, D. C. which has since been their home. Mr. Patterson being a legal adjuster for the Richard Brothers Company. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Washington lodge, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Della (Yohe) Patterson; a daughter, Miss Helen Patterson, in Washington and a brother, James Patterson of South Fork.

Friends are being received in the Leydic Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday, in charge of the Rev. Harry Burton Boyd, D. D., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Greenwood."
