Civic Leader, Banker, Legionnaire, J Milton Patrick, 80, a native of Skiatook, OK, died July 21, 1995, after a long battle with cancer. Patrick was born in Skiatook and lived there all his life. His business and civic contributions were numerous. He retired from the Exchange Bank of Skiatook in 1988, after being a banker for 48 years.
He and his partner, Cecil Watson, owned and operated the Patrick-Watson Ford Agency for 48 years. Patrick served the City of Skiatook as the city Councilman and Mayor for 17 years. He was honored as the Man of the Year from the Chamber of Commerce in 1957.
Elder of the First Christian Church, served as Chairman of the Board of the Grand River Dam Authority; a CEO Chairman of the Board of the OK Ordinance Works Mid America; life member of Tulsa Boy Scouts; life member of FFA; served 18 years as a member of the Tulsa County Health Dept; served as County Chairman of March of Dimes and the Red Cross; served on the Industrial Park Board of the Osage County Trust; served in WWII and received the Purple Heart; elected Post Commander, District Commander, National Vice Commander, and elected National Commander of the American Legion in 1969. Patrick has been serving on the National Finance Committee of the American Legion since 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Bert Patrick; sisters, Ramona Houston, Juanita Park, Patrea Walker; brothers, Claude and Clarence Patrick.
