Funeral services for Mrs. Laverne Wallace, 53, of Heflin, Louisiana were held Thursday, June 30, 1988, 3:00 p.m. at Bistineau Baptist Church, Rev. Willard Sandiford ministered. Burial site at Bistineau Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace was a retired teacher. She died at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. Survivors include her father, Bevie O. Pate of Ringgold, children: Clifford Odell Wallace of Ringgold, Michael Wallace of Yakima, Washington; one daughter, Denise Howell of Minden, Louisiana and Jonathan Wallace of Heflin, Louisiana.; two sisters, Shirley Carter and Johnnie Morgan, both of Ringgold; one half brother, Vernon Pate of Austin, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Norma Laverne Wallace married Francis Odell Wallace on May 27th, 1955 in Heflin, Louisiana.

Laverne was a member of Bistineau Baptist Church and it's long time choir director. She was a very active church member.

Laverne taught English at Ringgold High School and helped a lot of young men and women prepare for their college entrance.
