Mrs. Barbara Ann Partin, 72, of Owens Hollow, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 23, 2009 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Marion and Mable Bugg Britton born on December 8, 1937 in Cornishville.
Mrs. Partin was a homemaker and a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Gray Chapter # 580 and was a past Worthy Matron. Together she and her husband owned and operated The Store. She enjoyed quilting, shopping and tending to her flowers.
On December 6, 1954, she united in marriage with Carl "Hob" Partin in Barbourville and to this union two children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cari Brooke Yates and a son-in-law, Kenneth Eugene Yates Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Carl "Hob" Partin of Owens Hollow; two children, Pamela Kay Devine and husband, Jimmie, of Springfield and Carlene Yates of Owens Hollow; four sisters, Doris June Britton, Sarah Johnson and husband, Lawrence and Donna Stratton and husband, Wayne, all of Harrodsburg and Nancy Belcher and husband, Ron, of Danville; four brothers, Billy Britton and wife, Joyce, Archie Britton and wife, Betty, Jerry Britton and wife, Alice, and Keith Britton and wife, Sheryl, all of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, Carmon Yates of Owens Hollow and Jessica Carney and husband, John, of Springfield; four great grandchildren, Lainey Ann and Chloe Brooke Yates both of Georgetown and Dalton and Lance Thomas Carney both of Springfield; special friends, Tammy Burns, Pearl Wyatt and Dave Wyatt; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, December 27 at 2 P.M. with Rev. James Vandy officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Lynn Camp Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Carmon Yates, John Carney, Quinn Burns, Brady Burns, Dave Wyatt, Wayne Stratton and Ron Belcher.
