Mr. Charles elmer Parsons, 67, of 120 Southwood Drive, Clinton, died Sunday at Mary Gran Nursing Center, Clinton, NC.

Mr. Parsons, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late William Lonnie Parsons and Lula Howell Lynch Parsons and was the widower of Marie Turner Parsons. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Gary Parsons, two brothers, Jack Parsons and Lucian Parsons, and a sister, Hilda Parsons. He was the former owner of Parsons Body Shop.

He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Parsons Balkcum and husband Jeff of Clinton, and Charlie Marie Parsons of Salemburg, a step-son, John Ottaway of Salemburg, a grandson, Randy Garrett Hering of Georgetown, two brothers, W.J. "Dub" Parsons and Franklin Parsons, two sisters, Kathleen Cannady and Pete Hope, both of Clinton.

The family recieved friends from 2-3pm, the hour prior services at the funeral home in Clinton. and other times at the home of his daughter Kelly Balkcum in Clinton.

The funeral services were held at 3pm, Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Crumpler-honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton, with the Rev. Robbie Gilbert officiating.

Burial was made in the Clinton City Cemtery.
