Juliette E. Parrish, was born on April 19, 1843, the daughter of Louis Parrish and Catherine Hubble Parrish of Ohio.
She married Harvey Bemis on January 21, 1862, and to this union were born four children, Ellie, Henry R., Dora O. and Marian E., Ellie died October 9, 1866 in Indiana.(About 2 years old), and Marian was adopted by Mr. William Allen and Lydia Darrow Tew, Waterford, Conn., in 1883 and she never married.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bemis lived on farms in Groton Twp., Erie, Ohio, Steuben, In., before moving to Brown County, Illinois around 1880. It is noted that on August 7, 1880, Harvey and Juliette deeded the land to the trustees for $10.00 to build the Little Missouri School No.53, in Buckhorn Township, Illinois.
Juliette Bemis died on May 14, 1933, in Brown County.
At the time of her death she was survived by; two daughters, Dora O. McNeff, and Marian Tew; one son Henry R. Bemis, and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; and infant daughter, Ellie.
Burial in Mt. Sterling City Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Il.
