Lillian E. Parrish, 89, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Walter W. Parrish, is with her Lord and Savior! She departed this life Monday evening, December 21, 2009, at Azalealand Nursing Home under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late Ludvig Jensen and the late Alida Sofia Terjesen Jensen. Her parents left Norway as indentured servants just before World War II; her father as a ship's carpenter and her mother as a domestic cook. Lillian was the last of seven children born. Married on September 15, 1943, Lil had lived in Savannah since 1974. She leaves behind sweet memories of her church, Bible Baptist, and a dedication to the Lighted Pathway Class, a ministry for the mentally challenged. Other talents include years spent as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Lillian was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

She is survived by her husband of almost sixty seven years, Walter W. Parrish of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Barbara Allen and her husband, Jim Leffel, of Savannah, Georgia, and Jean Gladys Parrish of Jacksonville, Florida; three sons, David Bruce Parrish and Richard Walter Parrish and his wife, Patricia, all of Ellabell, Georgia, and Thomas William Parrish and his life partner, Karen Martin, of Savannah, Georgia; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-great children.

Services were entrusted to Gamble Funeral Service of Savannah, Georgia.
