Carlos was the son of Louella "Lou" Florence Hopkins and Samuel Seber Parris. At the time of his death he was widowed and living in San Francisco. He was a retired accountant of 25 years with Parrot & Company. He died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco and was laid to rest at Golden Gate National Cemetery on November 6, 1968.
