Sarah Pratt married Samuel Parris in Feb 1779

When Sarah and Judge Samuel moved to Maine, the spot on which they settled was an unbroken wilderness, but was subsequently incorporated as a town.

He, by great industry and honesty, acquired a prominent position in the community. He served in the Revolutionary War both on land and sea; was the first representative of the town in the General Court of Massachusetts, and was repeatedly re-elected. In 1805, he was appointed one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas. In 1812, a Presidential Elector.
