Mrs. Georgia Parnell, 92, of Norfork, passed away Friday, June 10, 2005, at White River Healthcare in Calico Rock. A funeral will be 10 am today at Norfork with the Rev. Blake Langston officiating. Burial will follow in Galatia Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday.
Mrs. Parnell was born to John and Tilda Hamilton Funkhouser, June 24, 1912, in Hopewell. Georgie was a devoted loving mother and grandmother who loved flower gardening. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Norfork Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Lu (Joe) Ayala, of Wichita, Kans., Carlotta (Devon) Blanchard of Salesville, and Linda Bernice (Bob) Huett of Henderson; one son, Sidney (Karen) Pickens of Mountain Home; one step-son, J. C. (Kay) of Austin, Texas; one brother, Theo (Norma Lea) Funkhouser of Norfork; one sister, Mary (Frank) Adkins of Midway; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one step-daughter, two brothers, on granddaughter, and one great grandson.
Memorials may be made to White River Healthcare or Hospice of Izard County.
