Funeral services for Barbara N. Cartmill, 55, of Dodd City, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Wittle will officiate. Burial followed in Dodd City Cemetery.
Barbara passed away Thursday night, May 8, 2003, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Barbara was born August 23, 1947, in McKinney,, the daughter of James Parmer and Flora Bennett Parmer.
She attended school in Hagensport.
Barbara married John W. "J.W." Cartmill, Sept. 4, 1964, in Farmersville.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Farmersville.
Surviving are her husband, John W. "J.W." Cartmill of Dodd City; three sons, John R. Cartmill and wife, Teresa, Royce Cartmill and James Cartmill, all of Bonham; four daughters, Denise Pinkston and husband, Rex, of Bonham, Christy Cartmill of Windom, Carol Cartmill of Roxton and Rachel Cartmill of Trenton; four brothers, Carrel Parmer of Mesquite, Jim Parmer of Weston, Jackie Parmer of Kentucky and Kenneth Brewer of Copeville; two sisters, Marilene McBrayer Helerman of Liberty Hill and Dorothy Penny, Dallas; seven grandchildren, Brandon and Gena Pinkston, Haley Mitchell, Kyla Cartmill, Rob Clark, Ebby Jones and Brandi Battle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday night at Wise Funeral Home.
