Goldia B. Athy
Services for Goldia Beatrice Athy, 86, of University City, will be 11 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. She died 8:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Charles, after an extended illness. Mrs. Athy, a housewife, was born in Boone County July 27, 1894 to Sterling and Nannie Cook Parmer. In 1912 she married Oscar Athy, who died in 1955. She was a member of Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Mary Stephens Bible Class. Survivors include a son, Robert B. Athy, Hazelwood; a sister, Mrs. Altha K. Cox and a brother, Dudley Parmer, both of Columbia, a granddaughter, Doris J Athy, Jefferson City; two step-grandsons, James C. Barr, Vienna, Va., and Robert W. Barr of south St. Louis County; and six great-grandchildren.
