Per 12/26/1984 issue of "The New Haven Register" (Condensed) Obit.:

"Ruth P. Blackie, 87, Was Active in Church"

HAMDEN - Ruth C. Parmelee Blackie, 87, of 159 Oberlin Road, died Sunday in the Hospital of St. Raphael after a brief illness. She was the wife of David R. Blackie.

She was born in New Haven, November 25, 1897, daughter of the late William E. Parmelee and Emma Ellen Sennett Parmelee and was a resident of Hamden since 1940. Mrs. Blackie was a member of the Lady's Guild of St. Peter's on the Hill Episcopal Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Kenneth R. Blackie of New Haven, David S. Blackie of East Haven and James R. Blackie of Hamden; two sisters, Olive Weber and Dorothy Morris both of Hamden; one brother, Elwood Parmelee of Ormond Beach, FL; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister Lottie Whitmyer and a brother Louis Parmelee.
