Myrtle I. Cremer, 78, of 717 Moore St., Huntingdon, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, December 17, 1993, at the Centre Community Hospital, State College. She had been in failing health for the past few years.

Born January 21, 1915, in Juniata Township, she was the daughter of William Wilson and Agnes (Dean) Parks. On December 29, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., she was united in marriage to William E. Cremer. Her husband survives at their home.

Two daughters survive: Mrs. Betty H. Nye of Bridgewater, N.J., and Mrs. R. Glenn (Dorothy J.) Hoover of Huntingdon, R.D. 2. There are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A sister, Mary Seabolt of Huntingdon, also survives. Mrs. Cremer was preceded in death by three brothers, Berley Parks, Nelson Parks and Carl Parks, and three sisters, Ethel Hamer, Della Glaser and Hannah Fleming.

A member of the Abbey Reformed United Church of Christ, Huntingdon, Mrs. Cremer was an active member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She had been active in Girl Scouting as a troop leader and assistant leader. She was also active in the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter in Huntingdon, the Huntingdon County Historical Society, surviving as a docent, and as a member of the former Huntingdon Music Club.

Educated in Alfarata School and Huntingdon High School, Mrs. Cremer was employed briefly at Poser's and the grange Trust Co. in Huntingdon. She later served as accountant and assistant secretary-treasurer of the Juniata Valley Loan Company of Huntingdon until her retirement in 1988 after 37 years of service. She enjoyed genealogy, sports events and Christian programming on television.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 20, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Gary H. Marcy will officiate. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
