Patricia Parks (Pat) Aegerter, 84, of Hannibal, died at 7:35 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013, at Luther Manor Nursing Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Park United Methodist Church. Pastor Charles Bindemann and Mr. David Parks will officate.

Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Mrs. Aegerter was born in Hannibal, MO, October 4, 1928, to Edgar Andrew (Druey) and Ethel Primm Parks. She married Paul A. Aegerter, June 6, 1953, in Pensacola, FL, and he survives.

Other survivors include, one son, Paul A. (Marcia) Aegerter, Jr. of Kingwood, TX; one daughter, Robin (Earl) Overman of Winfield, IL,; eight grandchildren, Corinne Aegerter, Andrew (Lauren) Aegerter, Kristen (Luke) Harms, Derek Aegerter, Hannah Aegerter, Taylor Overman, Alexandra Overman and Conor Overman; and one great-grandaughter, Hadley Kay Aegerter. Also surviving is a half sister, Averill Young; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Parks; and nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Parks and Druey Primm Parks.

Pat was a retired elementary teacher for the Hannibal School District. She taught for 32 years at Central and Pettibone schools. She was a graduate of Hannibal High School, class of 1946, attended William Woods College and received her B.S. in education from the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Pat was a faithful member of Park United Methodist Church. She was choir director at the church for 35 years. She was past president of the Northeast Missouri Humane Society. She was a member of Hannibal Chapter BR P.E.O., Hannibal Chapter D.A.R. and the Hannibal Woman's Club.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and a dedicated teacher. Her family and friends will always remember Pat sharing her views on community issue's with letters to the Courier Post editor.

Pallbearers will be Pat's grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Northeast Missouri Humane Society or Park United Methodist Church , in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
