Thomas J. Parks was born January 15, 1914, in the Keytesville community. He was the son of Anna L. (Patterson) and Moses Hurt Parks.
Mr. Parks was a farmer. At an early age he united with the Asbury Mothodist Church. He was a World War II veteran. On April 12, 1952 he was united in marriage with Ople Guilford, and to this union one son was born, Gary Parks.
He leaves his wife and son of the home; mother, Anna Lou Parks, Salisbury; two brothers and six sisters, Harry Parks, Eudora, Kansas; Billy Parks, Salisbury Mrs. Margaret Fitzpatrick, Salisbury; Mrs. Louis Famuliner, Canoga Park, California, Mrs. Frances Mulholland of Moberly; Mrs. Eleanor Kroner, Kansas City; Mrs. Helen Ward, Los Angeles, California; and Peggy Howell, Belton, MO., several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parks, 61, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo. May 16, after an extended illness. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Bullock Monday afternoon, May 19 at Berry Chapel in Keytesville. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery. Pallbearers were; Donovan Hart, Bobby Guilford, Melvin Guilford, Jim Guilford, Denny Blake Pearman and Keith Young.
