Barbara Maughan Parkinson Watts, of Logan, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 13, 2004. Preceded in death by her husband, Conley Watts, and is survived by five children and their spouses: Richard and Jan Watts of St. George; Joe and Sharon Watts of Salt Lake City; Gary and Mildred Watts of Provo; Barbara and John Kerr of Logan; and Steve and Beckie Watts of Orem. She has 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was born August 12, 1911, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Joseph and Ida Maughan Parkinson. She was the fifth of nine children. Her brother Berkely Parkinson and his wife Dorothy live in Rexburg. Surviving spouses of her brothers and sisters are Lil Parkinson and Jack Nelson. Predeceased by brothers, Joe, Seth, Maughan, and Doug Parkinson, and sisters Mary Cannon, Gretta Romney, and Kirma Nelson. She married her Rexburg neighbor and childhood sweetheart, Conley Watts, Sept. 1934. Was a teacher while her husband coached basketball at South Cache and Davis High Schools. Settled in Logan where Conley was co-founder of Cache Valley Builders Supply. Both held leadership positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Con passed away in 1976. Found much enjoyment in her close friendships, social clubs, DUP, church activities, temple service and volunteer work at the Logan Regional Medical Center. Inspired everyone by the style and grace in which she lived her life. Services held Saturday, July 17. Burial in the Logan Cemetery aside the grave of the partner she loved, cherished, and thought about every day since their parting 28 years ago.
