DIED
DAVIS--At her home in Longmont, Colo., Tuesday morning, August 24, 1897, Mrs. Mary Holden Parker Davis, wife of Mr. George Davis, aged 76 years.
The deceased was born in the town of Reading, Massachusetts, February 3, 1821, and was married to Mr. George Davis, January 16, 1845. They resided in her native town of Reading about ten yeas, when they removed to Denmark, Iowa, and continued to reside there until 1863, when they decided to make their home in Colorado. They first located at Central City, but removed to Longmont in 1871, and have resided her and in this vicinity ever since. She leaves a husband and three children, Mrs. Lon Maxwell of Boulder, Charles Davis of Loveland and George M. Davis of Longmont.
The deceased was a woman of great moral worth, conscientious, pure of thought and word, active in temperance and church work. In the fullest sense of the term, she was a devoted christian woman, and will be greatly missed by those associated with her in charitable and church work; and most of all, by her aged and feeble husband.
The funeral services were held in the Congregational church Wednesday forenoon, her pastor, Rev. C. L. Hyde officiating. The interment was at Highland Lake.
