Vuryl Watson "Ginger" (Parker) O'Neal (1923 - 2012)

Vuryl "Ginger" O'Neal passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at the age of 88 years and 10 months. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Ginger was born April 3, 1923, in Comanche to Willie Jo Coursey and Edgar Franklin Parker. She was a longtime Tarrant County resident. She lived in Benbrook, Fort Worth, and Richland Hills throughout her life. She also lived in California with her son and husband at the time, Clemons Watson. She worked at Buddies Supermarket in her younger years. She was a small-business owner most of her life. Her first business was as an Avon representative. She later owned and operated R&L Automotive with her then husband, Loyd O'Neal. She then owned Action Enterprises where she kept books and prepared taxes. Many of her clients became lifelong friends. In her later years she owned and operated Action Bail Bonding and was proud to be a licensed Tarrant County bail bondswoman. She was a member of PBTC, PBT, and PBUS. Ginger was a friend to all who knew her and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was an animal lover who owned many dogs throughout her life which brought her great joy and comfort. She was also a great supporter of animal rights charities. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all. The family would like to thank Debbie Braziel and all of the ladies at Adivas Group Home for the wonderful, loving care they provided for Ms. Ginger in her her final years.

Survivors: Son, C.E. Watson and wife, Cheryl; granddaughter, Ginger Watson; grandson, Keith Watson; great-grandchildren, Colin Burakoski, Riley Watson and Cassidy Watson; sister-in-law, Mary Parker; nephew, Ronnie Walton; beloved friend, Margaret Trammell Watson; stepgrandchildren, Michael Thigpen, Angela Daffren and Kelly Thigpen; numerous cousins, family and friends; and wonderful dog, Bootsy.
