Marian Parker Hines passed away in Ogden on Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
She was born August 8, 1923 in Leicester, England to George Henry Parker and Ada Ethel Parker.
She met her future husband, Melvin Hines in 1942 when he served with the American Forces in England. They later married on February 10, 1945 in Handsworth, Birmingham, England, the wartime headquarters of the British Mission authorized to perform marriages.
Marian, and daughter Lesley, emigrated to the United States arriving in Ogden, Utah at the Union Station on December 25, 1946. They resided in Ogden.
Mel and Marian were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1947. Marian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in numerous church callings in all organizations. She loved to be with the Primary and Sunday School children. The Primary songs are still precious to her heart.
She spent 20 years serving students in the Teacher Education Program at Weber State College where she greatly enjoyed her friends, students, faculty and staff.
Children, flowers, reading, and good friends brought a special uplifting joy to her.

Marian is survived by their six children: Lesley (Paul) Newey, Huntsville, UT; Robert (Janene) Hines, Alameda, CA; Karen (Paul) Wilcox, Pleasant View, UT; Stephen Hines, Layton, UT; Cathy (Brad) Luke, Huntington Beach, CA; Tish (Greg) Seitzinger, St. George, UT. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the countless hours and acts of service and love performed in our mother's behalf at Wasatch Care Center, Emeritus Assisted Living Estates, and to Hospice of Utah.
