Mary Ann was the daughter of John Gould and Mehitable Sawtell Parker. She was born in Keene, Cheshire County, New Hampshire on May 12, 1815. Mary Ann and Henry lived in Philadelphia where they had at least 6 children; Edmond Claxton Faunce, Elmira F Faunce, Henrietta M Faunce, Mary A Elizabeth Faunce, William H Faunce and Anna S Faunce.
Henry died at the age of 39 on April 14, 1852. He was buried in the Mechanics Cemetery3 in Philadelphia. After her husband's death, Mary Ann supported her family by being a fruit dealer. She was living at 732 Birch Street when she died on May 12, 1884. She was buried in the Mechanics Cemetery on May 15.
