Funeral services for Billie Parker were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Winnfield with Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev. Rayford Higgs officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories, Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
Mrs. Parker, age 64 of Winnfield, died Friday, July 27, 2001 in the Winn Parish Medical Center. She was a Winnfield native, a member of First Baptist Church where she was a choir member and was the music librarian. She was a retired plant clerk for the telephone company.
Survivors are her husband Jack Parker of Winnfield, LA; one sister and brother-in-law, Jenny Reid and Rev. Charles Kottonbrook of Brookhaven, MS; one grandchild, Jeffrey Parker of Winnfield, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lucille Reid and a sister, Patsy Reid.
Pallbearers were: Crosby Adams, Ernie Bamburg, James Machen, Johnny Lutes, Frank Mobley and Lamar Tarver.
