Mark Eugene Parker, 53, of Barling died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, in a Fort Smith hospital.
He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army after serving 20 years, a former member of the Fort Smith Police Department, and an employee of Nabors Drilling. He was also a proud member of the Black Widows Forever Motorcycle Organization.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two children, Kristian Hahn of Maryland and Kurtis Parker of Connecticut; two stepchildren, Christopher Avery of Fort Smith and Kristie Avery of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Kathryn and Emily Hahn, both of Maryland; and two sisters, Stara Furtado of Rhode Island and Diane Greer of Texas.
Pallbearers will be members of the Black Widows Forever Motorcycle Organization with honorary pallbearers being Christopher Hahn and Christopher Avery.
Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel with burial taking place at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, both under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
