He was born Aug. 2, 1931, to Aaron O. and Martha Mae Meredith Parker in Maynard.
He was retired from the Army, he was in administration at the Cedarville Public Schools system for 20 years and served as a teacher in the Van Buren Public Schools system, where he retired. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge No. 32 and the Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Margot (Trieb) Parker; two sons, Herbert and Victor Parker; a stepdaughter, Karen Sue Thornberg; and a stepson, Danny Ray Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; two daughters, Suzanne Parker of Fort Smith and Rose-Marie Allison of Tucson; one sister, Louella Voorhies of Washington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the pavilion at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with burial following with full military honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
