Christine Helis Pappas Boyd died on February 6, 2007, peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness.
She was born December 6, 1917 and was an Albuquerque resident since 1937. Her first husband, Gus Pappas, and second husband, George L. Boyd, precede her in death, as well as four sisters.
She is survived by her two sons, William Pappas and wife, Anne Moore of Stratford, Ontario, Canada and Thomas Pappas and wife, Jane of Albuquerque.
She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Michele Dingman and Dana Sanchez and husband, Victor, all of Albuquerque. For many years, she was active in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, and was one of the founding members of the Philoptochos Society.
She was also the initial organizer of the Greek Orthodox Youth Association and the children's choir. She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors who always felt welcome in her home, where visitors helped themselves to the Koulouria jar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of the Sandias.
