September 21, 1929 - August 1, 2012

ECKHART- Ralph Harry Pape, 82, of Eckhart, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born in Eckhart, he was the son of the late John Pape and Eleanor (Niner) Pape.
He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lenore, William, Anneta, John, Roy, Clement, Thomas , Edith, and Hulda. After 44 years, he retired from Cumberland Cement and Supply.
Also, he and his wife, Phyllis owned and operated Pape's Greenhouse.
Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis (Ryan) Pape, daughters, Linda Hersick and husband, James, Ranson, WV; Margaret Blubaugh and husband, Kenneth, Eckhart; Patricia Smith-Detrick and husband, Bob, Carpendale, WV; and Shelia Rolland and husband, Jimmy, Monette, AR; grandchildren, Jamey, Tresa, Dianna, Buddy, Amanda, Tommy, Laticia, Kayla, and Sheena; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Patrick and wife, Diane, Florida; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hersick, Kenneth Blubaugh, Bobby Detrick, Jimmy Rolland, and J.R. Baer. Online condolences may be sent to www.sowersfuneralhome.com
