Annette Sarah Birk nee Pangborn, wife of George A Birk was born Sept 30, 1856 in Elyria, Ohio.

When six years of age she moved with her parents Mr and Mrs N P Pangborn to Galion, Ohio, where she lived 8 years, then moving to Indianapolis where she resided until her marriage to Mr Birk of 5 miles west of Wakarusa which occurred Dec 9, 1914.

When a girl she united with the Garden Baptist church and was a faithful church worker. After her marriage she united with the Zion Evangelical church. Her ambition was for the welfare of others.

The attack of influenza on May 2, 1920 left her in a nervous condition although not bedfast. On May 11, 1921 a relapse seized her and remained in a serious condition until 9 PM June 30, 1921 when the end came peacefully

Those who survive are: a husband, 1 sister Mrs Martha Bodey of Galion, Ohio and a host of relatives and friends who mourn her departure

She died at the age of 64 years and 9 months.

Mrs Birk was an efficient worker and member of the Wakarusa W R C, always present at the meetings when possible.

Short funeral services were held at the home at 6:30 Saturday morning, Rev E F Lawrenze officiating. The remains were taken to Galion Ohio for burial.

Mr Birk and family express their appreciation to all who so kindly assisted during the long sickness and death of this loved one.
