Francis A Panariello III, age 62, of Wilmington, DE passed away on January 21, 2016 due to complications from Atypical Parkinsonism MSA disease. Frank was born on November 16, 1953 in Wilmington, DE, son of Josephine and the late Francis A Panariello Jr.

Frank graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School in 1971 and attended the University of Delaware where he studied American History. He was an avid train enthusiast, starting his love affair with railroading at the age of 15, volunteering at the Wilmington & Western Railroad. For 38 years, Frank worked in the railroad system ending his career as a yard master for Septa Regional Rail, where thousands of regional commuters depended on him daily to get to work and home. He was known to his coworkers as “Y1”.

Frank was a Disney enthusiast, vacationing in Walt Disney World annually with his caring, devoted wife and best friend, Beth. In addition, they frequently enjoyed dining at Amish restaurants in Lancaster, PA . Every Sunday after church their ritual was to enjoy a foot long hot dog at the Dog House restaurant.

Frank enjoyed spending time at his beach home in Dewey Beach, DE, where family and friends would meet often for parties and great times. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and associate member of Marshallton United Methodist Church.

Survived by his wife of 31 years, the love of his life, Elizabeth Carter Panariello, his sister Joanne Ryan (Thomas), his brothers Salvatore (Patricia) and Michael (Beth), brother-in-law Robert Carter (deceased), sisters-in-law Lynn Saltzman (Bob) and Debbie Carter. Beloved uncle to Kelly Martone (Tom), Sam Panariello, Kristin Ryan, Juliana Panariello, Nicholas and Anthony Panariello; great uncle to Joseph and Natalie Orga, Angela and Dominic Martone, and Samantha Panariello. He was godfather to many children, all of whom he loved deeply.

Friends may visit on Monday, January 25th, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Corleto Latina Funeral Home, 808 N. Union Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 26th, at 11:00 am at Marshallton United Methodist Church, 1105 Stanton Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be at Grace Lawn Memorial Park.
